Watch the weight drop with our medically supervised Semaglutide program — designed to work with your body's natural hunger hormones for real, lasting weight loss.
Our Semaglutide Weight Loss Program uses weekly injections of semaglutide — an FDA-approved medication that mimics the GLP-1 hormone your body produces after eating. It lowers blood sugar, slows stomach emptying, and reduces appetite, making it significantly easier to maintain the calorie deficit needed for real, lasting weight loss.
The program includes an initial consultation with Dr. Hansel, start and finish body composition analysis, all required medication (provided at the clinic), and monthly monitoring sessions.
Results vary. Best achieved with the recommended diet, hydration, and exercise guidelines.
Full health evaluation, medication review, and personalized plan setup.
Accurate measurement of your progress beyond just the scale number.
Provided at the clinic — cost is included in the program. No pharmacy runs needed.
Weigh-ins, measurements, and any optional upgrades you wish to choose.
For optimal results, follow these recommendations throughout your program:
Body measurements each month for accountability and tracking
30 min, mild–moderate, at least 5 days per week
Half your body weight in ounces of water daily
Paleo Diet as a healthy food consumption guideline
Alcohol can lower blood sugar and worsen GI side effects
Semaglutide slows gastric emptying — tell Dr. Hansel all meds you take

(503) 667-9300Semaglutide is an injectable medication which, when used in combination with diet and exercise, helps with blood sugar control in type-2 diabetics and promotes significant weight loss. It belongs to a class of medications called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonists, which mimic the hormone GLP-1 in your body to lower blood sugar levels after eating.
GLP-1 agonists like Semaglutide help control blood sugar, but people taking them also lose weight. Semaglutide slows how fast your stomach empties food (gastric emptying), causes your pancreas to release insulin, and blocks glucagon — preventing your liver from releasing sugar. Together, these functions help you feel less hungry, eat less food, and lose more weight.
Yes. In addition to slowing gastric emptying to make you feel full longer, GLP-1 also plays a direct role in how appetite is regulated — it reduces your desire for food intake at a neurological level.
You will slowly work up to the target dose, at which point you will see the most weight loss. In clinical trials, most participants reached the full dose (2.5mg) and saw weight loss increase as their dose increased. Additional weight loss continued over the remaining weeks at the full dose. Results are best when Semaglutide is combined with a healthy diet and exercise. Weight loss can take time — be patient and consistent.
All patients start on the lowest dose of Semaglutide: 0.25mg injected subcutaneously into belly fat once per week. Dose increases by 0.25mg every two weeks as tolerated (slower if nauseous). The target dose for weight loss is 2.5mg once weekly. Dr. Hansel will guide your dose progression throughout the program.
No to both. Semaglutide is not insulin — it stimulates your pancreas to release insulin when glucose is present, but it relies on your body's own insulin. It is also not a stimulant like phentermine. Semaglutide works by mimicking your natural GLP-1 hormone, not by stimulating your nervous system.
Yes — Semaglutide is FDA-approved for obesity management and type-2 diabetes. It is safe and effective when used as indicated. However, it should not be used if you or your family have a history of certain thyroid cancers, or if you have type-1 diabetes or a history of pancreatitis. Dr. Hansel will evaluate your full health history before starting the program.
No. Semaglutide is not covered by insurance for people who are not type-2 diabetic. However, when you enroll in our Semaglutide Weight Loss Program, the cost of all medication is included in the program fee — there are no surprise pharmacy costs.
Once enrolled and evaluated by Dr. Hansel, all medication and supplies are provided directly at the clinic. The cost is included in your program — you do not need to visit a pharmacy or manage your own supply.
Common side effects (most resolve as your body adjusts): Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, constipation.
Rare but serious risks to be aware of: Gastroparesis (prolonged vomiting), pancreatitis, vision changes, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar, especially if combined with other blood-sugar medications), kidney problems from dehydration, and serious allergic reactions. Dr. Hansel will monitor you closely throughout. Stop use and contact your provider immediately if you experience any serious symptoms.
